It’s all over in Woolwich after the most dramatic Greenwich Council election count for some years. DARRYL CHAMBERLAIN and RASHMEE ROSHAN LALL were live from the count providing updates on what happened.
The final results were declared at about 7pm after counts for 23 wards and 55 seats.
A party needs 28 seats to win control of the council. Before the election, Labour had 47 councillors, the Conservatives four, the Greens two and there were two independents.
Labour ended the night with 35 councillors, the Greens 13, the Conservatives six and Reform one.
