Woolwich town centre will finally get a post office again in the new year, more than nine months after its old branch closed.
The new post office will open for seven days a week from January 30 at 120 Powis Street, a few doors down from the old WH Smith store where the previous branch was based.
Customers have had to use other branches since the store closed in April, a few weeks before its much-mocked rebranding to TG Jones, with the small branch at Kingsman Parade near the Woolwich Dockyard estate seeing an influx of custom.
Post Office has confirmed to The Greenwich Wire that the new branch will be open from 9am to 5.30pm from Mondays to Saturdays and 11am to 3pm on Sundays. It will be in a new store, Stationeries & Gifts, which is being fitted out.

A consultation has now opened into what customers need from the new branch. To add your thoughts, visit postofficeviews.co.uk.
The new operators are looking for full and part-time staff with previous experience of working in a post office. To apply, send a CV to woolwichpostoffice[at]gmail.com.
