Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist suffered “life-threatening” injuries in a collision with an HGV on the South Circular Road in Catford.
The man, who is 54, is in a critical condition after the incident at the junction of Catford Road and Stanstead Road at 5pm on Tuesday.
Officers say the HGV driver is helping police with their inquiries and no arrests have been made.
The collision came nearly nine months after another cyclist was killed in a collision with a lorry on the same stretch of road. Lukasz Binkowski, who was 40, was hit outside Catford station on 30 October. That incident came just a few days after a pedestrian was killed close by in another incident.
At the time, Transport for London said it was investigating plans to revamp the South Circular through Catford to make it safer, and had hoped to begin consulting on plans this summer.
Witnesses to Tuesday’s collision, or those with dash cam footage, are asked to call 020 8285 1574 or 101, quoting reference CAD 5843/21JUL20.
