The Greenwich Wire covers the stories SE London’s traditional local media gave up on years ago — what your councillors are up to, the endless surge of new building projects, and how we get around our amazing patch of the capital city. We sit in meetings, we read the documents, we talk to people, we ask questions.
We mainly cover stories in the borough of Greenwich, with stories from Lewisham, Bexley and other neighbouring boroughs where they have wider relevance.

We don’t smother our website with ads, and we won’t patronise you with clickbait or duff stories ripped off from elsewhere. We report robustly, fairly and professionally.
As well as stories from our founder and editor, Darryl Chamberlain, and occasional freelance pieces, we also get stories from the BBC-funded Local Democracy Reporting Service, as well as contributions from members of the community.
We have just one part-time staff member. We don’t have the help from government that props up the legacy titles, such as public notices or state advertising.
