Tickets for the first Blackheath fireworks display in six years have gone on sale – with Radio 2 DJ Spoony among the acts appearing on the night.
The new-look event, to be held on November 1, features live entertainment, DJs, comedians, a food village, craft beer festival and funfair as well as the return of the fireworks.
Blackheath has hosted fireworks since the late 1980s, but the last display was held in 2019. Lewisham Council cancelled the event during the coronavirus pandemic and later put it on hold because of government funding cuts.
This year the council has teamed up with the company behind the Alexandra Palace display in north London to provide an event for 30,000 people.
Spoony and the Heavy Beat Brass Band will also perform in the main arena while in the big top, there will be the immersive gameshow Famous First Words and the Massaoke singalong.

Sabina Sheikh, Lewisham’s cabinet member for culture, communities and sport, said: “Blackheath Fireworks are back – and they’re set to be bigger and better than ever. We’ve curated a fantastic line-up of entertainment to make this year’s display truly memorable. From DJs and comedians to classic fairground rides, Blackheath Fireworks promises an evening of fun for everyone.
“It’s brilliant to be able to offer such a spectacular event for both residents and visitors. Thanks to the hard work of our teams and partners, we’re proud to bring this much-loved tradition back to Blackheath. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a winter evening with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 1 November.”
Tickets are £16 for adults, £10 for 11-15-year-olds and £5 for children aged 10 and under. Family bundles are also available.
