In short:

- Track works mean no trains from Lewisham to Sidcup on Sunday, with replacement buses running. Also no trains Lewisham-Orpington
- Overhead line works affecting Thameslink trains mean fewer trains on the Greenwich line
- Elizabeth Line from Abbey Wood, Jubilee Line and DLR running normal service

Rail routes through Greenwich, Abbey Wood and New Eltham will be disrupted by engineering work this bank holiday weekend – hitting journeys for thousands of Charlton fans heading to Wembley.

More than 38,000 Addicks fans will be travelling to the national stadium for the League One play-off final against Leyton Orient on Sunday.

But their trips – as well as thousands of others over the weekend – will be affected by track works.

No Southeastern Metro trains will run between Lewisham and Sidcup on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, while services between Lewisham and Orpington will also be cancelled on those days. Replacement buses will run instead. There will also be no trains on the Bromley North branch.

Alternatives for fans heading to Wembley include two Superloop buses – the SL4 from Lee to Canary Wharf and the SL3 from Sidcup to Abbey Wood. From those stations, Elizabeth Line trains will run to Farringdon, which is served by Metropolitan Line trains to Wembley Park.

A normal service will run on the Bexleyheath line.

Trains through Charlton itself, as well as Greenwich, Woolwich Arsenal and Abbey Wood are also disrupted this weekend because of work on overhead power lines disrupting the route used by Thameslink trains.

Thameslink will run just one train per hour between Rainham and London Bridge on Saturday and Sunday, disrupting journeys for Charlton fans from Kent hoping to reach Elizabeth Line trains at Abbey Wood, or for those hoping for a direct link to Farringdon.

Southeastern will run a normal service on the Greenwich line on Sunday: two trains per hour between Slade Green and Cannon Street. Other Thameslink trains will run between London Bridge and Farringdon, but there will be fewer than normal.

The Jubilee Line and Docklands Light Railway will run a normal service on Sunday and across the weekend.

There are works on the Elizabeth Line in west London on Sunday, but these should not affect the service from Abbey Wood and Woolwich for those planning to reach Farringdon.

All of Charlton’s initial allocation of 36,945 tickets for the play-off final sold out on Tuesday. An extra 1,400 tickets will be made available, but as of Wednesday evening these were yet to go on sale.

Wembley Boxpark and Arena Square have been confirmed as Charlton’s fan parks for the match, which kicks off at 1.01pm – the extra 60 seconds has been added to promote the Every Minute Matters campaign to encourage supporters to learn CPR.
