Engineering works affecting both Southeastern Metro and the Docklands Light Railway mean there will be no trains at all for locals and visitors to Greenwich this Sunday.
Network Rail works mean that lines into Cannon Street will be closed, and with them services through Deptford, Greenwich, Maze Hill, Westcombe Park, New Cross and St John’s have been cancelled.
A half-hourly service will run from Dartford to Charing Cross via Woolwich and Lewisham instead, with replacement buses between Lewisham, New Cross and Charlton. Thameslink trains will be cut back to run between Plumstead and Rainham.
The cut in service will affect those heading to the Charlton Athletic v Birmingham City Women’s Championship match on Sunday.
Other lines will also be affected by the closure: the only trains through Eltham and Bexleyheath will be a half-hourly Victoria to Dartford service, while Thameslink trains will not be able to run through London Bridge. But the Sidcup line will run four trains an hour as normal.

Meanwhile, work to prepare the Docklands Light Railway for the long-delayed introduction of new trains means no service on much of the network on Sunday, including to Greenwich and Lewisham. Replacement buses will run to Canada Water instead. DLR services to Woolwich Arsenal will to and from Stratford International.
Normal services are planned on Elizabeth Line trains to Woolwich and Abbey Wood, and the Jubilee Line at North Greenwich. Windrush Line services on the Overground will also run largely as normal, although with trains running to Battersea Park rather than Clapham Junction and no early services to West Croydon.
One other closure will affect local travel this weekend: the London Cable Car closed for annual maintenance on Monday, and will not reopen until March 27.
Network Rail confirmed on Monday that lines between Blackheath and Charlton will be closed for ten weeks from May as work continues to fix a leaky tunnel that has disrupted services for years. Meanwhile, no dates have yet been announced for a planned six-month closure of Cutty Sark DLR station to replace broken escalators.
