The Old Royal Naval College is one of Britain’s most popular locations for films and TV shows – now fans of hits including Bridgerton, The Crown, Les Misérables and Pirates of the Caribbean can take a special tour to find out how the Greenwich attraction is transformed into a movie location.

More than 200 productions have been filmed there over the past 100 years, beginning with Sons of the Sea in 1926, and the small-group tours will show the key areas that have been immortalised on screen.

Films shot at the Old Royal Naval College include The Charge of the Light Brigade, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Patriot Games, The Avengers, Skyfall and Napoleon, while TV shows include Dempsey and Makepeace, Lorna Doone, Poldark, Gangs of London and Slow Horses.

Inspired by Bridgerton, this tour will include a taster class on hand-fan communication and its secret meanings, while visitors will also see the Painted Hall, where Captain Jack Sparrow was forcefully escorted in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

They will also be able to see the Chapel of St Peter & St Paul, which provided the setting for Colin and Penelope’s wedding in Bridgerton’s third series.

The Wigs, Weddings, Powder and Palaces tours, which are restricted to 25 people, run twice-daily every Friday and Saturday from April 4, and cost up to £25. More details are on the Old Royal Naval College website.
