Engineering work over Easter will close the Elizabeth Line through Woolwich and disrupt Southeastern Metro trains through Lewisham for four days.
London Overground services through Surrey Quays, New Cross and New Cross Gate will also be halted over the extended weekend, while Docklands Light Railway services will also be affected. .
The disruption will mean thousands of Londoners will need to take different routes or replacement buses for work or leisure over the four days.
Works on the Elizabeth Line will mean no trains between Paddington and Abbey Wood between Good Friday and Easter Monday, with no replacement routes provided. However, Southeastern and Thameslink services will be running as normal through Woolwich Arsenal and Abbey Wood, but Docklands Light Railway trains will only be running from Woolwich Arsenal towards Stratford International.
TfL has been using recent Elizabeth Line closures to test a signalling system upgrade, which is due to be completed in June. Another closure is due at the beginning of that month.
No Southeastern Metro trains will be running between Lewisham and Sidcup through Easter because of work to stabilise an embankment at Hither Green. This involves installing a 115m sheet pile wall to stop debris falling onto the railway. Network Rail says it will also be replacing track and ballast. The closure will be extended to Dartford on Easter Sunday. Half-hourly buses will run.

There will also be no Lewisham to Victoria trains over Easter, affecting those travelling to Peckham or to King’s College Hospital at Denmark Hill as part of long-running signalling works. No replacement buses will run; extra trains will run between Cannon Street and Dartford via Bexleyheath. The same closure will also mean no Thameslink trains through Crofton Park and Catford, with buses running instead.
No London Overground services will run all weekend on the route between Highbury & Islington to New Cross, New Cross Gate and Clapham Junction – the services that will soon be known as the Windrush Line. Replacement buses will run on all four days between Dalston and New Cross Gate as well as Canada Water to Clapham Junction. Buses will not run overnight.
There will be an unusual sight on Easter Sunday with a special Overground service between London Bridge, New Cross Gate and West Croydon to replace the usual Southern service on that route, which is unable to run because of other works affecting trains through Sydenham that day.

There are also Docklands Light Railway track works, meaning no trains between Stratford and West India Quay as well as Westferry and Canning Town. The line between Tower Gateway and Shadwell will also be closed. The Lewisham to Bank trains that serve Greenwich will still run, but Woolwich Arsenal trains will all go to Stratford International.
Further afield, tram routes from Beckenham Junction and Elmers End will also be closed over Easter – and through to April 24 – as part of work to repair the Croydon system. Replacement buses will run.
Other services in the area are expected to run normally. For more details of engineering works elsewhere, visit tfl.gov.uk or nationalrail.co.uk.
