Early Southeastern Metro train services are being cancelled on Monday morning as rail bosses prepare for Storm Isha to hit.

Four early trains into central London and six heading towards Kent on the Woolwich, Bexleyheath and Sidcup lines are being cut so the network can be checked for debris from the storm.

Other SE London services are affected as are a number of mainline services in Kent.

A yellow warning for wind is in place across London and southeast England, upgraded to amber from 1800 on Sunday to 0600 on Monday, with speed restrictions in place between those times.

No details have yet been published on how the storm will affect Thameslink services through Greenwich and Woolwich.

Southeastern said “Given the forecast, it will be necessary for us to cancel or revise some very early morning trains tomorrow, to enable us and Network Rail to ensure the lines are clear of trees and debris, and that it is safe for trains to run. Please check if your train is running before you travel.”
