Greenwich Council’s bin collections are staying on their normal days over Easter, with refuse crews collecting recycling and rubbish as normal on the two public holidays.
The council had planned to give lorry crews Good Friday and Easter Monday off, but the service – which like others in London is wrestling with staff shortages during the coronavirus pandemic – will operate as normal.

Greenwich has asked people not to put bulky rubbish out until the crisis is over to give crews the best chance of dealing with as many bins as possible. More information can be found on the council website.
In Lewisham, crews will be taking the holidays off and catching up on the following day. Bexley crews will be taking Good Friday off – collecting on Easter Saturday instead – but will be working as normal on Easter Monday.
